Saturday, August 17, 2013, 9am!

The Lake Champlain Maritime Festival invites you to join us for the Second Annual Pirate 5k Run/Walk, presented by New England Federal Credit Union!

Dress in your favorite pirate costume and get some treasure! Participants receive a t-shirt, bandana, finishing medal and ‘tattoo!’ Prizes will be awarded! Meet Rockin’ Ron the Friendly Pirate!

The event will be open to all ages and take place on the beautiful Burlington Waterfront with theLake Champlain Maritime Festival course running long the Burlington Bike Path. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Community Sailing Center’s WAVES Initiative, a program for children and adults that is designed to enhance their connection to the exciting ecosystems of Lake Champlain through interactive science lessons and recreation on the lake.

After the race, join us at the Lake Champlain Sailing Center for breakfast, free paddle boarding until 11:30 and race awards!

After July 30: Adults- $37 | Kids – $25

Registration Fee Includes: T-Shirt, Bandana, Temporary Tattoo, Finishing Medal and fun for all!

Bib and Race Kit Pick Up:  Friday, August 16, 5:30-7pm, City Sports, Church Street, Burlington

Parking:  Parking is available on side streets (please do not park on streets along course).  There are also various parking lots and parking garages throughout downtown, for additional parking information, please click on the following link, http://www.burlingtonvt.gov/Live/Getting-Around/Parking/Parking-in-Burlington/

Start Line-up:  We will be lining everyone up at the race start in Waterfront Park (bottom of College Street), on the lawn across from The Echo Center at 8:45 am for opening ceremonies. The race will begin promptly at 9:00 am. The fast runners will be at the front of the line.

Course Route:
Start & Finish in Waterfront Park:  Right onto Burlington Bike Path, continue on Bike Path going past King Street, Left onto Maple Street, Right onto Pine Street, Right onto Lakeside Avenue, Left onto Central Avenue, Left onto Harrison Avenue……Return to Finish: Left onto Bike Path continue on Bike Path going past Maple Street and King Street, Left onto College Street/into Waterfront Park to Finish line. Locomotion will provide a lead bicyclist to lead the way.
