Healing Winds Vermont is a sailing reprieve for those affected by cancer and all who love them. Healing Winds understands the experience of having cancer can be a lonely journey for patients, friends and family. The stress, anxiety and uncertainty of cancer can be exhausting. Healing Winds believes in the importance of taking time to celebrate life’s beauty together and provides a unique therapeutic recreational experience for the whole family.
“We give our patients and caregivers a unique opportunity to share important time together while enjoying the beauty of sailing on Lake Champlain,” says Suzanne Johnson, Founder.
Since launching in 2014, Healing Winds has provided free three-hour sailing excursions for 550+ guests. Healing Winds sails six days per week, out of their slip at the Burlington Community Boathouse, located on A Dock, Slip 2.
Healing Winds’ mission is to create lasting memories for individuals with cancer, and their loved ones, through the therapeutic experience of sailing.
Healing Winds believes that sailing provides relief for individuals being challenged by cancer. Their sailing excursions are refreshing, relaxing, and spirit-lifting. Healing Winds provides an opportunity to rebuild courage, love and relationships and strives to create lasting memories.
