BURLINGTON, VT—The Lake Champlain Maritime Festival will change dates this year and hold the Festival at Burlington’s Waterfront Park August 16-18, 2013 in order that the free Wings Over Vermont Air Show can take place on August 10 and 11, 2013. The move was made in collaboration with Wings Over Vermont Air Show, Lake Champlain Maritime Festival, its sponsors and participants, and the city of Burlington. The Lake Champlain Maritime Festival is still able to continue a seven-year tradition of exciting events at Burlington’s Waterfront.

“The spirit of teamwork is strong between those who produce special events in Vermont. We believe the more we support each other, the more there is for the people of this wonderful community to enjoy. When we are able to accommodate all the unique events that are available to people, we believe that translates into success for the community,” said Michael O’Brien, Lake Champlain Maritime Festival Founder and Director.

The Lake Champlain Maritime Festival has been named a Top 100 North American Event by the American Bus Association and a Top Ten Vermont Summer Event by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce and is well-supported by both the state and regional chambers, as well as the city of Burlington. Daily admission is free to most events with select events requiring admission.

“On behalf of the City of Burlington, I’m pleased to congratulate the Lake Champlain Maritime Festival for celebrating its sixth year on the Burlington waterfront. I commend the festival for bringing people of all generations down to our remarkable waterfront to experience a great variety of crafts, activities, music and of course, boats. We look forward to the future and all that the wonderful Lake Champlain Maritime Festival has to offer,” says Mayor Miro Weinberger.
