Festival’s Lake Champlain Eco-Zone, an event that features interactive exhibits with environmentally conscious organizations for people of all ages to learn more about clean and healthy ecosystems, returns to this year’s Festival. Learn how you can help maintain Lake Champlain as one of Vermont’s most beautiful natural treasures.
Visit the following exhibits!
The Echo Lake Aquarium and Science Center will hold a special watershed informational presentation all three days of the Festival (Friday-Sunday)! Visit their website for more information: http://www.echovermont.org.
The Eco Zone is proud to welcome back the Conservation Law Foundation, and welcomes Lake Champlain Lakekeeper Louis Porter to the festival this year! As CLF’s Lakekeeper Porter, a former Vermont reporter, is part of the Waterkeeper Alliance, an international network of more than 200 clean water advocates founded by environmental attorney Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. in 2001, and advocates for restoration and protection of Lake Champlain and the rivers, streams, and landscapes that drain to the Lake from Vermont, New York, and Quebec. We urge you to click here to find out more about Louis’ and CLF’s amazing work, and hope you come out to learn more about them and check out their 14 foot longboat at the Eco Zone! Please learn more about Louis’ work here: http://www.clf.org/profiles/louis-porter/. And, please visit the CLF’s site for more details: http://www.clf.org/your-state/vermont/.
Also, at this year’s Festival, the Eco-Zone is proud to announce the participation of Ben and Jerry’s! They will be onsite giving away samples of Phish Food ice cream (we will keep you posted on what hours!) and promoting their involvement in a number of environmental organizations working to green the environment, and we are VERY EXCITED to have them aboard! Visit their website for more information: http://www.benjerry.com.
